Finegold Alexander promotes Colburn, Pfadt and Diler-Himes

Boston, MA Finegold Alexander Architects has appointed Claire Colburn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C to senior associate; Lara Pfadt, AIA, LEED AP BD+C to associate; and Ozge Diler-Himes, AIA, to design manager.

Claire Colburn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, senior associate, joined Finegold Alexander Architects in 2016 as a project manager. Colburn has extensive experience in civic, academic, and institutional projects, both new construction, historic restoration and adaptive use. In addition to recent historic preservation and adaptive use projects, Colburn is deeply involved with the firm’s courthouse work on the new Lowell Justice Center in Lowell, Mass. and the York Judicial Center, in Biddeford, ME. Colburn earned her Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan in 1999, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Haverford College. An active community supporter, she serves as chair of the Belmont Library Building Committee, president of the Belmont Library Foundation and is a committee member of the Belmont Public Library Feasibility Committee. Colburn is registered both in Massachusetts and New Jersey as a LEED Accredited Professional.

Lara Pfadt, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, associate, joined Finegold Alexander in 2015, with experience on both new and historic building projects for education, private development, and institutional clients. She is an expert in historic preservation and has a passion for sustainable design. Pfadt’s achievements include creative and thoughtful solutions for systems integration in historic buildings and significant contributions to the preservation and re-use of existing buildings while achieving strong building performance goals. Recent projects include The Lucas, Gibbs Middle School in Arlington, Mass., and Boston University, Dahod Alumni Center at The Castle. Pfadt earned her Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Virginia Polytechnical Institute. She is a registered Architect in Massachusetts and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Ozge Diler-Himes, design manager, joined the firm in 2016 and serves as an architectural and urban designer. Diler-Himeshas worked on projects ranging from large-scale urban projects to small architectural interventions in both large and small settings. Most recently, she worked on the design of Babson Commons at Horn Library (currently under construction) that will house student gathering spaces plus classrooms as a new addition to an existing building. Additionally, she has worked on winning design competitions for a number of projects in the office. Diler-Himesis a lecturer in Architectural Design at Boston University and previously taught studios at Carnegie Mellon University. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and her Master of Urban Design from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Penn.
