Harbor Point has added First Niagara Bank to its Yale & Towne neighborhood. First Niagara will open its newest branch this fall in a one-floor, 3,224 s/f building at the corner of Henry and Canal Sts.
First Niagara will provide walk-in banking services, a drive-through teller, a walk-up ATM and more jobs for Connecticut. As a community-oriented bank, First Niagara is also committed to empowering not-for-profit organizations and providing resources, expertise and helping hands to the communities where they do business.
"A bank branch is vital to any local community and I welcome the addition of this key resource for the South End. It is another building block in the development of the South End and the increasing number of residents and business commuters who live and work there," said Michael Pavia, mayor of Stamford.
First Niagara's New Haven-based regional president, David Ring, said, "We're a community oriented bank, which means Conn. bankers will make decisions on providing credit, services and support to our customers and neighbors in the Harbor Point community, just as we do across the state. We look forward to providing capital and support to meet the needs of businesses and consumers in and around the Yale & Towne neighborhood. The Harbor Point community is evolving and expanding and we want to be a part of that as we continue our growth in Conn."
"Instead of people and businesses traveling outside the neighborhood to access certain conveniences we're bringing the conveniences right to Harbor Point," said Harbor Point spokesman John Freeman. "First Niagara is a natural addition and will fit in nicely with Fairway Market and Go Green Dry Cleaners."
The new Harbor Point branch will be First Niagara's fourth in Stamford, including those on Summer St., High Ridge Rd., and Hope St.
