Fischer Real Estate sells 108,000 s/f office building for $5.8 million

After searching for more than three years, Hamden-based Highville Charter School has purchased a 108,000 s/f office building on over 4 acres at 1 Science Park from AT&T. The purchase price was $5.8 million. Alan Fischer, CCIM, SIOR, of Fischer Real Estate Inc. represented Highville in this transaction. Cushman & Wakefield was the listing agency. Originally built in 1952, AT&T gutted the brick, stone and concrete building down to its slab and steel framework and completely rebuilt it into a call center in 1993. Highville will now convert the open layout into classrooms to meet its expansion needs and its vision to become a true community school. Fischer said, "If you could dream up a wish list of features and a layout for an existing building that would be suitable for conversion into a school, you couldn't imagine a building better than 1 Science Park. From the in-place cafeteria to having room for a gym, 1 Science Park was the perfect building."
