Five Boston buildings recognized at BOMA Mid-Atlantic TOBY awards

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Boston, BOMA Boston (a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board), which represents over 100 million s/f of commercial real estate space in downtown and suburban Boston, had five buildings named as BOMA Mid-Atlantic Regional TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) Award winners. The BOMA TOBY Awards recognize excellence in building operation and property management. The 2011 BOMA Mid-Atlantic Conference Regional TOBY Awards Dinner was held on April 20th at the Carnegie Music Hall, in Pittsburgh, Penn.
The BOMA MAC TOBY Awards recognized five BOMA Boston member buildings as Regional Buildings of the Year:
* The Newbry, owned by TIAA-CREF, managed by CB Richard Ellis-N.E. Partners, LP, in the Historical category.
* 53 State St., owned and managed by Lincoln Property Company, in the Renovated category.
* 75 State St., owned by Brookfield Office Properties 75 State Co. LLC, managed by Brookfield Properties, in the Earth Award category.
* New England Executive Park, owned and managed by Equity Office Properties, in the Suburban Office Park Mid-Rise category.
* 225 Franklin St., owned and managed by Equity Office Properties, in the 500,000 - 1 million s/f category.

BOMA Boston members competed against buildings in 14 other BOMA local districts in the 7 states comprising the Middle Atlantic region. They will now move onto the BOMA International TOBY competition in Seattle, Washington where the International winners will be announced at the Awards Banquet on June 26th.

The BOMA Boston TOBY and Industry Awards are an annual recognition of the best in commercial real estate. The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards are part of the BOMA International TOBY Awards and awards are given in 14 categories for best practices in building operations. The winners of the BOMA Boston TOBY Awards have an opportunity to compete at the regional and international levels of BOMA. The BOMA Boston Industry Awards are given to individuals and organizations who are involved in BOMA Boston, pursue continuing education opportunities and who are involved in the community. Each individual and company is nominated for this award and submits a minimum of two letters of recommendation from tenants and supervisors. The BOMA Boston Industry Leadership Award is given annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding business and leadership experience in Boston real estate.
