Falmouth, ME Flagship Cinemas opened its doors to the public on July 13 at its newest 10-screen movie theater, located next to Walmart on Rte. 1. The Falmouth location is Flagship Cinemas’ fifteenth theater.

Back in 1995, Flagship Cinemas launched its maiden voyage into the movie exhibition industry when it opened its first theatre in Falmouth.  Since that time, there have been many new developments within the industry that have made the movie-going experience more exciting and enjoyable than ever before.  It is with great pleasure that Flagship Cinemas reintroduces cinema to the Falmouth community in a whole new way.

The July 13 opening marked the debut of Flagship Premium Cinemas, a modern movie theatre unrivaled by any other in the market.  Featuring power-reclining chairs with ottomans and the latest in digital sound and projection, Flagship Premium Cinemas will also provide the latest in upscale amenities. Among these will be reserved seating, self-serve soda stations, as well as specialty film programming.

According to Karen Farber, chairman of the Falmouth Town Council, “The town is very excited to welcome Flagship back to Falmouth. We especially recognize the hard work by the company to complete the renovations in record time.”

“We invite residents and businesses in Falmouth and the Southern Maine region to come and check out this high-quality movie experience. Flagship’s arrival is excellent news for all of us,” said Theo Holtwijk, the town’s director of Long Range Planning and Economic Development.
