Galaxy Development of Auburn, has commenced construction on a new 20,000 s/f shopping center on Worcester Rd. a/k/a Rte. 12, at the site of the former Webster Nursery.
The new project sits on five acres of land zoned for retail business, across from the new Price Chopper grocery store, which Galaxy completed in 2013.
The building is designed to accommodate five tenants, one of which is a 4,300 s/f Mexican restaurant. Galaxy has continued to work through the winter months with steel being erected in early February. The site has 100 parking spaces and the stores will open early this summer.
The general contractor for the project is Coastal Construction of Duxbury. Civil engineering was provided by Patrick Doherty of MidPoint Engineering and Consulting, LLC.
Galaxy was represented by Attorney Larry Brodeur of Fletcher Tilton P.C. in Worcester and financing was provided by Webster Five Savings Bank.
