Gaston Electrical provides tel-data services for UMass Memorial Health Care

Worcester, MA Gaston Electrical Co., Inc. (Gaston) has begun a multi-location low voltage installation project on behalf of UMass Memorial Health Care (UMass Memorial). The scope of work includes upgrades to existing IDF closets, the installation, testing, and calibration of a new HD3 WiFi system with associated Category 6A cabling, new fiber optic backbone cabling, and a Distributed Antenna System (DAS). The project is designed to enhance and expand wireless coverage at multiple locations within the UMass Memorial system.

The Gaston team is led by a senior project engineer and will include 20 field technicians working in multiple buildings between the Memorial Campus, University Campus, Hahnemann Campus, Marlborough Campus, Clinton Campus, and system administration offices.

“Gaston Electrical is pleased to be partnering with UMass Memorial, the center for health and wellness in the Greater Worcester area,” said Bill Weber, principal at Gaston Electrical. “As a busy medical center with multiple campus locations, the majority of work will be completed within an occupied and fully-operational environment. Our experienced field technicians excel in these conditions – which will minimize interruptions to UMass Memorial employees and their patients. This assignment is a testament to our ability to undertake complex projects, and will highlight the skill and professionalism of our expanded tel-data division.”
