Grand opening for ShopRite stores

Five out of the nine recently acquired stores from Stop & Shop have opened their doors to the public under the ShopRite banner. While the bank branches and pharmacies remained open during the transition period to provide continued service to customers, each ShopRite store, owned and operated by the companies listed below: "All of our owners were eager to get their stores up and running in time for the holiday season," said Karen Meleta, spokeswoman for ShopRite. In addition, the new stores will each receive $10,000 to donate to the local hunger-fighting charity of their choice as part of the ShopRite Partners in Caring program that is dedicated to the fight against hunger.
