According to Griffin Land, Nidec America Corporation has signed a lease for 10,000 s/f of industrial space at 16 International Dr. Nidec took occupancy in September, relocating its facilities from Torrington.
"Nidec America needed to downsize from our 23,000 s/f facility in Torrington. I knew that finding the right location for us would be a challenge. The facility at 16 International Dr. was exactly what we required and was virtually move‐in ready, offering everything we needed. Working with the Griffin Land team was a pleasant experience," said Chip McIsaac, director of sales at Nidec.
16 International Dr. is a 58,370 s/f industrial building located within New England Tradeport, a 600-acre business park that was master‐planned and developed by Griffin Land, in Windsor and East Granby. The park has highway access to I-91 which connects a division of Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. with I-90 and I-84. The park presently consists of 15 industrial buildings totaling over 2.6 million s/f, with additional permitted and unentitled sites able to accommodate an additional 2 million s/f of development. Some of America's top companies have operations within the park including AAR, Advanced Wheels, AN Deringer, Diesel Injection Services, Domino's, Eaton Corporation, Europa, FedEx, Marcone Appliance Parts, Matheson, Mistras, NeighborCare, Pepsi, Pitney Bowes, Pumpernickel Express, UPS, Tire Rack, USA Mechanical, Velux, Walgreen's and Westinghouse.
"Nidec is one of many businesses to recently join our tenant community, and we are pleased to welcome them," said Tim Lescalleet, senior vice president of Griffin Land, the company's real estate division. "This transaction required a coordinating transaction with another tenant in the building.
Chris Metcalfe of CB Richard Ellis represented Nidec in negotiating the lease, with Griffin Land representing itself.
