The Greater Providence Board of Realtors recently held its 12th annual charity golf tournament at The Alpine Country Club. The tournament raised $19,500 for the benefit of several local charities including Hasbro Children's Hospital Child Life Program, The RI Community Food Bank and 'Marvin's Fund' to benefit the RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA). The proceeds were distributed at the boards 102nd annual meeting and luncheon held on September 17 at the Squantum Association.
Golf tournament co-chair, Karl Martone of Re/Max Properties, Smithfield acknowledged all the hard work and efforts of all the volunteers and sponsors who make this yearly event possible.
Martone said "On behalf of the Greater Providence Board of Realtors, we are very pleased to contribute to these remarkable charities that do so much for our community. Despite the economic challenges many of our members face, our board organized for a remarkable collective effort. We are very proud of that."
