Horblit awarded CoreNet New England’s 2016 President’s Award

Boston, MA According to the New England Chapter of CoreNet (CoreNet NE), Christopher Horblit has been selected to receive the 2016 Douglas Noonan President’s Award. The recipient of this award is an exemplary member of the corporate real estate community and a dedicated volunteer to CoreNet NE. The award is named in honor and memory of Doug Noonan, vice president group corporate real estate at adidas Group, a former chapter president and President’s Award recipient. Horblit  will be recognized on November 1 at the 2016 CoreNet NE Awards of Excellence Gala at the Intercontinental Hotel.

Horblit was most recently the president of Fidelity Real Estate Company (FREC), a division of Fidelity Investments. In that role, he was responsible for a portfolio of 10+ million s/f including mission-critical data centers and more than 190 retail investor centers. Before being appointed president in 2010, Horblit led the teams responsible for real estate portfolio strategy (comprised of portfolio planning, research and transactions) and client service management. Prior to joining FREC in 2005, Horblit held roles in Fidelity Risk Oversight, where he was responsible for global security operations, and Fidelity Management and Research Company (FMRCo), where he was responsible for starting that business unit’s risk management group.

Our chapter is a vibrant and robust community in no small part due to Chris’ stellar leadership and contribution over these 10 years. And he is a great friend to us all.”   

Horblit holds a BA degree in English from Framingham State University, an MS degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a JD degree from Suffolk Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude. Has been an active member CoreNet New England for over ten years and has held prominent positions on the chapter board of directors and executive committee. Horblit serves as immediate past president of the New England Chapter of CoreNet Global after serving a three year term as president of the organization, is chair of the CoreNet Global Advocacy Committee. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Society for Industrial Security. He volunteers his time at Metrowest Legal Services Campaign, a non-profit organization that provides free civil legal services for the needy.
