Vicinity Energy Tour

On May 7th IFMA Boston toured Vicinity Energy’s Kendall Sq. plant in Cambridge, Mass. The event, led by representatives from Vicinity Energy, drew close to 40 IFMA Boston members and guests for an inside look at this landmark facility’s past, present, and future. Attendees gathered early in the morning for a presentation and guided walk-through of the nearly century-old plant, which has evolved from a coal-fired power station into a cutting-edge sustainable energy site. The tour highlighted several key aspects of the plant’s operations – from its rich history and combined heat and power system to new innovations like eSteam technology, a 42?MW electric boiler, and the use of renewable biogenic fuel.
