IREM Boston holds Annual Awards Night on Nov. 3rd

The Institute of Real Estate Management, Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4 held their Annual Awards Night on November 3rd at the Seaport World Trade Center. Franklin Simon, CPM, The Simon Companies, AMO was honored for his lifetime accomplishments and contributions to the real estate industry. Simon was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Boston Chapter of IREM. Simon is the owner and president of the Simon Cos., a regional real estate company established in 1966. The Simon Cos., AMO has developed over 7,000 units of housing and several commercial projects. Simon has an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a B.S.M.E. summa cum laude degree from the University of Rhode Island. He holds a number of professional designations and is a registered professional engineer, a certified property manager, a licensed Massachusetts real estate broker and a licensed builder. Simon has lectured extensively at Boston University's College of Business, at Tufts University and at various professional seminars. The Awards Night is IREM's largest event of the year with over 200 people attending the event. A portion of the ticket proceeds, donations/sponsorships/vendor expo participation, was presented to the "Wounded Warriors Project" in an effort to help support their mission of honoring and empowering wounded warriors throughout the United States. Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members, has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. Thousands of wounded warriors and caregivers receive support each year through WWP programs designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment. During the evening, eighteen new ARM members and seven new CPMS' were installed by Robert Cuttle, CPM, ARM, 2012 - 2014 Region 1 RVP.
