IREM CT hosts annual economic forecast breakfast - January 21

On January 21, Connecticut chapter of IREM held its annual economic forecast breakfast and past president recognition at Season at Traditions, with over 70 attendees.
The guest speaker was Peter Gioia, V.P. and economist of CBIA. Gioia spoke to the IREM members about what to anticipate in the years to come financially.
Gioia is vice president and economist for the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA), the state's largest business organization with about 10,000 member companies.
Gioia oversees the research department. CBIA's research department provides in-depth economic and policy analyses and original survey research assistance to CBIA divisions and to member companies. The department provides key support to CBIA's advocacy efforts on behalf of business. The department also provides association members with international trade information.
Gioia is the association expert on state fiscal policy and is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars. Gioia is quoted over nine hundred times a year and is a frequent guest on media programs concerning business and political issues in the region. He has been a member of the Hartford Area Business Economists (HABE), the National Association for Business Economics, and the New England Economic Project (NEEP). He has also been president of HABE and a board member of NEEP as well as an economic advisor to former Connecticut Governor Rell. Prior to joining CBIA, Gioia was a senior consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick. Gioia joined CBIA in November 1989
