J. Calnan & Assoc. completes BJ's 250,000 s/f corporate headquarters

J. Calnan & Associates recentlycompleted the new corporate headquarters for BJ's. The new campus is located at 25 Research Dr. The last major renovation to the 300,000 s/f facility which is comprised of two 6-story buildings and formerly occupied by National Grid, took place in the early 1990s. The project team had just four months to retrofit approximately 95% of the entire building. The project consisted of the complete demolition and renovation of the existing offices and cubicles for over 1,000 employees; life safety renovations; 20,000 s/f of state of the art executive suites complete with a cutting-edge video conferencing board room; 11 additional video conferencing rooms; a full service cafeteria complete with a server and kitchen; 300+ person auditorium; lighting upgrades; new carpet, paint and millwork throughout as well as folding partitions and upgrades to nearly 30 bathrooms. The project team also included Cushman & Wakefield, tenant representation; ADD, Inc, architecture and Creative Office Pavillion, office furniture. The team was able to overcome the challenging 14 week schedule to have BJ's in their new corporate headquarters at the beginning of this year.
