J. Calnan & Associates, Inc.'s special projects division completes three fast-track office fit-out projects

J. Calnan & Associates, Inc.'s (JC&A) focused special projects division recently added 3 more fast-track office fit-out projects to its growing portfolio. The projects include renovations for Liquid Pixels, AirXchange and Affinova. Liquid Pixels was relocating to Bedford and required 5,000 s/f of renovation. Working collaboratively with Walsh Cochis Architects, Koda Ventures and Liquid Pixels, the JC&A project team successfully completed the renovation in just 4 weeks. AirXchange had 4 weeks to renovate and expand their office and warehouse space in Rockland. Using a design/build approach, JC&A worked with AirXchange and subcontractor partners to successfully turn the project over on time and within budget. Affinova turned to JC&A when it needed to expand. In order to accommodate their recent growth, Affinova needed to increase their space in Waltham by 5,000 s/f. Together with Hobbs Brook Management LLC and Studio Troika, the JC&A team used the design/build approach to convert the space in just 4 weeks. The project included demo, new carpet throughout, a new kitchen, minor finish improvements and private office furniture. David Conner, director of special projects said, "Collaboration is important to the success of any project, but absolutely critical when faced with tight timelines and in occupied spaces like these ones. We are very fortunate to work alongside partners who adopt our collaborative approach to building spaces and relationships." JC&A is a leader in construction management and preconstruction services for corporate and life science companies, as well as private schools in the New England region and beyond. For 15 years, their strategic thinking, proactive approach and commitment to clients and the communities in which they live has made them a leader in the industry and attracted high-profile companies including Boston Properties, Biogen IDEC, Reebok, The TJX Cos., Shire Pharmaceuticals, The Park School, New England Sports Network (NESN), Philips, Constant Contact, A123 Systems, The MathWorks and General Electric to name a few. Among recent awards, JCA has received a Boston Business Journal Citizenship award for its philanthropic efforts five years in a row; Corenet recognized JC&A as "Regional Service Provider of the Year;" and the Ohio Casualty Group presented JC&A with the Platinum Safety Award for our outstanding safety record for the third time in three years.
