On Saturday August 13 the real estate community lost one of its bright stars as he was vacationing on Block Island. Jay Amoruso, age 50, was the consummate professional. For over 20 years he was a leading producer at RE/MAX Precision Realty in Newington. Jay was highly respected by hundreds of clients and friends and served both the residential and commercial real estate markets. He enjoyed mentoring clients and fellow Realtors alike and had the talents, expertise and demeanor to be helpful to many. He touched numerous lives in a positive way and was a truly decent and most ethical individual. Jay had accomplished much in his relatively short career including being named to the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and given the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award. His professional resumé included achieving the GRI,CRS, and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designations. He was especially proud of becoming a CCIM and was active in its Connecticut Chapter serving on its board of directors. He was also an active member of the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors and was a member of its Professional Standards Committee.
An avid sailor and devoted husband and father, Jay leaves behind his wife Jane and daughters Rachael and Grace as well as an extended family and many friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
