Jefferson Apartment Group and SpringHarbor to begin new project - 168-unit garden-style community in Woburn, MA

Woburn, MA Jefferson Apartment Group (JAG), a leading multifamily developer and operator specializing in premier apartment communities throughout the East Coast, will begin construction on a 168-unit, multifamily garden-style community to be known as J Woburn Heights. The project is a joint venture with DC-based SpringHarbor Financial Group and is expected to deliver in late 2022.

“The entire JAG team is excited to bring high-quality multifamily housing to Woburn, creating this new opportunity for suburban luxury living in the Rte. 128 Tech Corridor market,” said Sandi Silk, senior vice president, development partner, JAG. “The hilltop location provides unique, grand vistas not often found in these types of settings, and the community will create new living options for this area.”

J Woburn Heights will boast an amenity package including a standalone clubhouse, resident lounge with fireplace, swimming pool, outdoor kitchen with grilling stations and bar, outdoor fire pit and lounge, fitness center, yoga studio, outdoor fitness area, pet spa, package room, electric vehicle charging stations, bike storage and resident storage.

The units will feature high quality finishes typical of a JAG community, including stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, white subway tile backsplash, two-toned shaker cabinets in white and grey, kitchen islands, plank flooring, in-unit washer/dryer and private balconies in every home. The unit mix includes, one bedroom, one bedroom with den, and two-bedroom floorplans with a spacious 1,025 average s/f.

In addition, the project includes 42 affordable units under the Commonwealth’s 40B program targeted for households at or below 80% AMI.

J Woburn Heights is located at the “top of the hill” in a wooded enclave offering sweeping vista views. Situated in one of Greater Boston’s most convenient suburbs, the development offers easy access to the Route 128 employment corridor and I-93, and at only 9 minutes to the Anderson Regional Transit Center, residents have access to commuter rail, Amtrak and Logan Airport express bus service to Boston and beyond. The community is also minutes away from Burlington and Lynnfield which offer some of the largest retail centers and lifestyle amenities in Metro North.

JAG has expanded its footprint in the Northeast region in recent years. In particular, delivering J Malden Center in 2019, a mixed-use development with City Hall civic space, 320 class A multifamily units, and 24,000 square feet of retail, which is reinvigorating Malden Center with vibrant new retail experiences at Malden Center Fine Wines, Soul City Yoga and Tous Les Jours.
