Jewett Automotive contracted with Rte. 44 Toyota for 1,000 s/f renovations

Jewett Automotive Design & Construction, a division of Jewett Construction Company, Inc., has contracted with Rte. 44 Toyota for a renovation of its Toyota-Scion dealership at 1154 New State Highway. Jointly designed by Jewett Automotive and Bruce Ronayne Hamilton Architects, this 1,000 s/f design-build renovation includes updated interior and exterior features to comply with the latest Toyota image program. The interior renovations are to the customer lounge area and include new flooring, millwork and finishes to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for customers. Exterior renovations will incoporate a new façade constructed of aluminum composite metal panels (ACM) and a grand entrance framed by an updated Toyota portal structure. The walk leading to the entry doors will be covered by a new roof structure, also wrapped in ACM, giving the facility an entirely new and modern look. All work will be carried out while the facility is in full operation, a challenge requiring daily coordination between the construction team and the owner. Dust barriers, temporary walls, and off-hours work will all be utilized to ensure minimal disruption to business. This is the second project Jewett Automotive has undertaken for the Rte. 44 family of dealerships, having completed an extensive renovation to its Hyundai dealership in late 2011. Jewett Automotive Design & Construction specializes in design/build auto dealership facilities, auto dealership additions, auto dealership renovations and auto dealership fit-ups all across New England—completing close to fifty such projects in the last few years. Automotive clients include such well-known organizations as Watertown Ford, the Tulley Automotive Group, Subaru of Keene, Olsen Cadillac, and repeat customers the Melkonian Group, Commonwealth Motors, and the Grappone Automotive Group.
