Jones Lang LaSalle hires Murray as managing director - expanding law firm service capabilities

As part of the firm's ongoing commitment to build a global law firm practice group, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has hired Chris Murray as a managing director. Murray will focus on expanding the firm's law firm service capabilities across the country and in critical markets around the globe. Murray joins JLL from Gensler, a global architecture, planning and consulting firm. With more than 35 years of experience, Murray will counsel law firm clients on real estate deployment, space strategies, and optimizing domestic and international offices. He has worked on projects for more than 200 law firms in 330 locations, 27 states and 16 countries, including over 24 million s/f of space "Chris is well-known and respected within the law firm community across the globe," said Greg O'Brien, JLL's CEO, brokerage. "His depth of strategic experience, expertise and deep understanding of the evolving real estate needs of law firms makes him an ideal fit for Jones Lang LaSalle." Murray began his career in 1979 at Gensler's New York office and after being appointed to principal in 1984, relocated to Washington, D.C. to open a new office. In 1996, after growing the D.C. office into the southeast region, Murray shifted his role to lead Gensler's professional services practice. Murray earned a bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame and his master's degree in real estate from The Johns Hopkins University. He is a LEED accredited professional, a registered architect, and a member of the Washington, DC chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
