Kirk of Kirk & Co. installed as 2009 president of Lambda Alpha - Boston

David Kirk was named president of the Boston Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society, on Wednesday December 10th. Kirk is the principal and founder of Kirk & Co., a real estate appraisal, consulting and investment counseling firm. Kirk is a charter member of the Boston chapter and has served on the board of directors. Kirk is a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) as well as The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE). He was 2001 president of The Counselors of Real Estate and 2001 president of the Greater Boston Chapter of The Appraisal Institute. He is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, the National Association of Realtors, and the Urban Land Institute. Prior to founding Kirk & Co. in 1993, he was a senior VP and principal of The Boston Financial Group, and the director of the Boston Financial Consulting Group, a division within the company that offered real estate consulting services. Boston Financial has since become part of MMA after acquisition by Lend Lease. Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society, was founded in 1930 to promote a closer affiliation between academics and commercial practitioners in land economics. The membership is by invitation and is extended to women and men who have distinguished themselves in land economics activities including the advancement of the science of land economics and the practical application of such principles in the development, redevelopment, preservation, or better utilization of the world's land resources.
