The Ninth Annual Konover Charity Classic Golf Tournament, held July 21st at Tumble Brook Country Club, raised nearly $30,000 for Boundless Playgrounds. Funds raised include monies from sponsorship fees as well as cash from raffle sales, contests and silent auction prizes. The Konover Charity Classic brings together leaders in the real estate development industry and is supported by many of those with whom Konover does business - retailers, brokers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, attorneys, lenders and other business associates.
In his presentation at the tournament, Michael Konover, chairman of Konover Development Corp., said, "Boundless Playgrounds is a very dear cause to us, and we are proud to support them with the funds raised through this event. I am always so impressed by and am grateful for the tremendous dedication of our employees and business partners whose commitment and generosity make the Konover Charity Classic a success each year."
Fred Leone, CEO of Boundless Playgrounds said, "Konover Development is to be applauded for their commitment to bettering the lives of children. We are extremely grateful for this donation. All who participated today are to be commended."
Nearly 80 companies participated as sponsors in this year's Konover Charity Classic, and 91 golfers were present to enjoy the team scramble tournament. The tournament's Diamond Sponsor, Shipman, Sosensky, Randich & Marks, LLC, received special recognition for their generosity. Over twenty volunteers, consisting of employees from Konover Development and Boundless Playgrounds, were present to help run the event. At the end of the day, prizes were given out to contest, raffle and silent auction winners and to the top four foursomes with the lowest scores. In addition, golfers were treated to a speech from the mother of a Boundless Playgrounds "Young Ambassador" who regularly enjoys the amenities of a Boundless playground.
The Konover Charity Classic was founded in 1999, with the goal of raising money for children and their families, to bring a positive difference in the communities where we live and work. Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $500,000. Konover's affiliation with Boundless Playgrounds dates back to 1996 when the company - its employees and family members - volunteered time and materials to help build the first ever playground for children of all abilities, called Jonathan's Dream Playground in West Hartford, Conn.

Funds raised through the Konover Charity Classic will go a long way in supporting the mission of Boundless Playgrounds, whose mission is.... "For every child, a place to play: Every child! Every ability! Everywhere!"
