Portsmouth, NH JSA Design’s principal Tracy Kozak, AIA, LEED AP, has been named by NH Business Review as a 2020 Outstanding Women in Business award recipient.

This honor highlights her career as a leader for the preservation of architectural antiquities in New Hampshire, most recently aiding the NH Preservation Alliance in the effort to save the historic Carey Cottage from demolition.

Kozak’s projects include higher educational facilities at University of New Hampshire, Endicott and Bates Colleges; health and senior living projects for Elliott Hospital Cancer Care Center, and Bridges by Epoch Senior Living, historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects at Carey Cottage, Strawbery Banke Museum, and most recently, Portsmouth’s Brick Market, and her personal favorite, Portsmouth’s Community Campus.

Kozak is a regional leader on environmental stewardship and responsibly combating climate change. She is responsible for JSA Design being the first firm in New Hampshire to sign the American Institute of Architect’s 2030 Challenge, a commitment to make all new buildings and renovations carbon-neutral by the year 2030.

She is a vocal advocate for innovative design, preservation and sustainability initiatives at both local and state levels and brings expertise and value to each new endeavor. Kozak serves as president of the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

“This year’s Outstanding Women in Business come from different industries and walks of life, but share a strong sense of self, a success-driven work ethic and extraordinary accomplishments,” said Jeff Feingold, editor of NH Business Review. “We congratulate all of this year’s recipients, including Tracy, whose commitment, vision and talent make her a true leader in her field.”
