Kurth of CohnReznick elected president of PWC/CT Chapter

The Professional Women in Construction, Connecticut Chapter (PWC-CT) elected their 2014-15 officers and board members, at the chapter's September 30 meeting Carolyn Kurth, CPA, CFE was elected as the board's president. Kurth is a senior manager in the Construction Industry Practice at CohnReznick, LLP, located in Farmington. Kurth previously served on the board of directors of the National Association of Women in Construction Connecticut Chapter. She is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the National Association of Construction Auditors. Laurann Asklof was elected vice president of PWC-CT. Asklof is a principal at the law firm of Shipman & Goodwin, LLP. In addition to her roles with PWC, Asklof is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Construction Law Section Executive Committee; and American Bar Association, Construction Law Section Wendy Kennedy Venoit is PWC's treasurer. Venoit is a partner with the law firm, Pepe & Hazard, LLP in Hartford. Venoit was named in the 2013 International Who's Who of Construction Law, by the Hartford Business Journal as one of its "40 under Forty" business professionals and by the National MS Society Connecticut Chapter as one of the "2008 Corporate Achievers", and is a past recipient of the Connecticut Law Tribune's New Leaders of the Law Award. Venoit is admitted to the State and Federal bars of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, as well as the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals. The PWC board secretary is Rebeccah Eldridge. She is a licensed architect and LEED AP at MBH Architecture in West Hartford. Eldridge is also a board member for the Academy of Engineering and Green Technology (AoEGT) at Hartford Public High School, on the steering committee for the Celebrating Women In Science at the CT Science Center and enrolled - and will be a 2014 graduate of - the Quest Program through the Leadership of Greater Hartford. The board's directors are Jennifer Buchanon, P.E., Geotechnical Engineer at Haley & Aldrich, Inc.;Roxanne Perugino, LEED AP, senior project planner with Diversified Project Management; Patricia Bilotto, CPSM, senior director of marketing for Panolam Surface Systems; Susan Labas, CPSM, senior associate and director of marketing for van Zelm Engineers; and Elizabeth Wright, an associate at the law firm, Robinson & Cole, LLP.
