Landry/French Construction Company is nearing completion on Ridgeland Gardens, a new 44-unit senior housing project located next to Ridgeland Estates.
Owned and operated by the South Portland Housing Authority, the new four-story building will provide housing for individuals 55 and older in one-bedroom apartments. Common areas include a community room, exercise room, storage space, and outdoor patio area for residents. The facility also contains five ADA-compliant units with additional units that can be easily converted for future use. Four of the second floor units include private patios.
The $7 million project was designed by Archetype Architects in Portland. Construction began last October and is expected to be completed this month.
