Larson adds heavy duty power substation with feed through capability

Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com has added a heavy duty power substation with feed through capability. The Magnalight MGS-15KVA-120-240-30AFT 15 KVA power substation gives operators in industrial settings the ability to convert 480 VAC single phase or three phase electrical current to single phase 120V AC and 240V AC. This capability is desirable in areas where the native power is unavailable or shut down and operators must tap into generators or outside high voltage power sources. This power substation utilizes a 15 KVA transformer to allow operators to safely connect to non native 480VAC power sources including generators and direct grid power and reduce it to useable voltages which can then be used to power the appropriate equipment. This new power transformer substation includes provisions for feed through power distribution, allowing users to connect equipment such as welding substations in series with the unit. "We continue to develop new models for our line of temporary power distribution systems," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics, magnalight.com. "Most of the actual implementations are customized to the customer's specifications; including 480 volt feed throughs, specific plug and receptacles and portability options. Portability options include skid pockets, casters and lift hooks. We build these power distribution sub-stations for offshore applications as well, including fully potted transformers, stainless steel frames and applicable coatings. We can usually turn around a quote on a custom system within a day or two and lead times vary with quantity, complexity and component availability." This power transformer distributes 120 VAC through 10 GFCI protected receptacles and 240 VAC through two GFCI protected outlets, essentially providing the capability for multiple connections from one power source. Safe operation is provided through the inclusion of GFCI protected outlets and integrated breakers. Power is fed to a fused on/off disconnect switch via 20 feet of line power SO cord which manages the power feed for the 15 KVA, 480 volt transformer. This power distribution substation includes an ADR3034 30 amp power receptacle and ACP3034 30 amp plug with 25 feet of SOOW cord to provide a feed through power option for operators needing to run welding substations or similar equipment from the main power source. This entire distribution unit is mounted to a coated steel frame with integrated skids, a top mounted loading eyelet and no flat all terrain tires to provide the maximum ease of mobility and transport. This unit is an ideal power distribution solution for a wide variety of applications and facilitates faster and more efficient operations during plant turnarounds and maintenance, hazardous location operations and marine applications. These units are popularly used in hazardous locations to power explosion proof lighting and equipment and are well suited to industrial applications requiring reliable power under demanding conditions. Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com is a manufacturer and carries a large inventory of power distribution substations, solar powered generators, inline transformers, hazardous location lights, intrinsically safe lights and explosion proof fans.
