Ironworkers Local 7 donates school supplies to Boston teachers, students and families

Boston, MA Ironworkers Local 7, one of the city’s largest unions, donated much-needed school supplies to city students, teachers and families as part of an annual campaign to support the school community and lessen the financial burden on educators and parents.

Parents and teachers visited Local 7’s union hall Sunday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and picked up school supplies for their students, including pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, colored pencils, notebooks, rulers, folders, binders and backpacks.

“As Local 7 union ironworkers we want to give back to our community,” said Local 7 president Frank Murray. “Not only do we work here, but we live here and we want to be able to give back here. We’re proud of our Boston teachers and we’re proud of our Boston students and we are proud to support them.”
