Lyman Real Estate facilitates sale of Viking Motel for redevelopment by Vescera

Rendering of The Harbor House Condominiums - Westbrook, CT

Westbrook, CT Ron Lyman, CCIM, CEO of Lyman Real Estate Brokerage & Development completed the sale of the Viking Motel on 1.03 acres at 756 Boston Post Rd.

The buyers are builder/developers Vincent and Carl Vescera. Lyman and agent and development associate Max Lyman represented both sides of the transaction.

The Vesceras have owned and operated a luxury home-building business in Darien for over two decades. They have completed hundreds of multi-million dollar projects and other southern Fairfield County towns, and brokered and participated in the design of many larger buildings for residential and commercial use.

Vincent Vescera and his twin brother Carl, along with architect John Matthews, plan to redevelop the abandoned Viking Motel into The Harbor House Condominiums & Shops, a new mixed-use community. The condominium building was designed to replicate a New England sea captain’s home, modified to accommodate luxury condominium living. It is located near restaurants, the beach, and marinas, and will provide housing for people wishing to downsize.

A separate building to accommodate shops is designed to complement the main structure.

The developers have already taken steps to eliminate fire and health risks by boarding up the existing building and removing trash and debris. As a side note, the Vescera brothers are both expert sailors, having logged more than 200,000 nautical miles on pleasure yachts, both power and sail.
