Hartford, CT MacDermid, Reynolds & Glissman, P.C. (MRG), a Connecticut-based boutique commercial real estate law firm, has expanded its land-use practice with the addition of veteran attorneys John Knuff, Amy Souchuns and Sara Sharp. The attorneys will be based in MRG’s new Milford office at 42 Cherry St., the firm’s third location in Connecticut and fourth overall. It also has an office in Raleigh, NC.

Founded in 1992, MRG serves clients throughout the country in every aspect of commercial real estate development and transactions involving all property types.

“We are excited to welcome such an experienced group of land use attorneys to the firm,” said David Glissman, MRG’s founding member.

“John, Amy, and Sara are respected leaders throughout Connecticut and New England. They have more than 60 years of combined experience and have been involved in some of the region’s most notable development projects. Their strong relationships with local commissions, boards and municipalities and ability to skillfully balance client and community needs are just some of the qualities they possess that make them highly effective land use attorneys.”

Knuff, Souchuns and Sharp add to the depth and breadth of the firm’s land use practice. They join Joseph Hammer, who expanded the firm’s land use practice and opened the firm’s New Haven office in 2022, Matthew Rosenthal and Daniel Glissman, whose practices include land use and cannabis law and Jennifer Oxford, whose practice includes land use law. The firm’s Land Use Practice has experienced significant growth under their leadership.

“We look forward to the greater synergies between our transactional and land use practices,” said Glissman. “It will enable us to better service our clients, making MRG a truly one-stop shop for their commercial real estate legal needs, from the initial due diligence and financing phase, through acquisition, property development, including land use and zoning, to the continuous operation, leasing and, ultimately, sale of a real estate project.”

“This represents an exciting next chapter in our professional journeys,” said Knuff. “While we each have been fortunate to achieve significant success in our careers, joining a law firm so closely aligned with our practice will allow us to deliver even greater and more efficient results. By leveraging the firm’s resources, experience and capabilities, we can enhance the value we provide to our clients. We are also eager to contribute to MRG’s growth, both in expanding its talented team and in broadening its business opportunities.”
