Margulies Perruzzi to redesign Middlesex Savings Bank branch

Margulies Perruzzi Architects (MPA) has been selected by Middlesex Savings Bank to design a 2,500 s/f relocated branch. Colantonio Inc. is the construction manger for the project, which will be completed this summer. MPA was selected to collaborate with Middlesex Savings Bank's own design team to configure and design the new branch. MPA and Middlesex Savings Bank held a number of interactive and collaborative 3D design sessions that incorporated the bank's design goals with MPA's experience in bank design. Showing a commitment to the community, Middlesex Savings Bank chose to relocate its Milliston Commons branch to a new location within the plaza with drive up teller access. The new location will feature four teller stations and three managerial offices in 2,900 s/f, a multimedia kiosk for customer training and education, and video displays in lieu of paper throughout the branch. The relocation provides the bank with the opportunity to re-conceptualize its approach to customer service and use of technology, while maintaining its community-oriented and friendly staff. "Middlesex Savings Bank always strives to provide the best banking technology and products available, but then goes beyond that by providing one to one service and understanding of the community that big banks just can't match," said Marc Margulies, AIA, LEED AP, principal at Margulies Perruzzi Architects. "It is a natural evolution that every new branch starts afresh while maintaining the bank's core goal of helping consumer and business customers in friendly and direct ways. Our design collaboration will deliver both personal service and an enhanced and interactive customer experience in the branch." MPA's design uses a palette of materials that are consistent with Middlesex Savings Bank's brand image. Sustainable materials were also chosen whenever possible. The information kiosk with several multimedia devices features an extensive use of interactive audiovisual equipment for customer information.
