The February 28th program was a huge success as over 80 people heard from Ray Melio of the RVI Group, Brian Baker of GE, and Phil Mobley of Kingsley Associates. They discussed what lurks behind the corporate real estate tenant's mind, what makes or breaks the decision to lease your space, and what you need to do to keep them in your building.
On March 27th, the program will be Regional Economic Development. How do companies decide which city to locate in? Speakers for this luncheon program at Giovanni's II and sponsored by Tri-State High Rise Services, will be Mike Freimuth of the City of Stamford, Jack Burritt of the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency, and moderator, Ellen Lynch of the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency.
In April, BOMA Greater Hartford is hosting the 2008 Mid Atlantic Conference at Foxwoods Resort. This conference will take place April 23rd-25th. On Wednesday evening, April 23rd, Southern CT BOMA will host the cocktail social. All Southern CT BOMA members are invited to attend this event. Prior to the social, from 4-5 p.m., Henry Chamberlain, president of BOMA International, will speak about the Market Transformation Energy Plan and 7-Point Challenge to reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings by 30% by 2012. On Thursday, there will be a golf outing, and an Ethics is Good Business BOMI course. The welcome reception will take place on Thursday evening.
On Friday, there will be three education sessions: LEED/Sustainability in the morning, Generations at Work at lunchtime and Federal Homeland Security for the afternoon session. Friday evening's TOBY reception and dinner will honor the MAC TOBY winners. Southern CT BOMA is pleased to announce that High Ridge Park has won a MAC TOBY in the Suburban Low Rise Category. This property owned and managed by George Comfort & Sons, Inc. won the local TOBY in October 2007 and entered the Mid Atlantic Conference judging. Come to Foxwoods and congratulate one of our own.
The May program will be a Green Expo. What's the newest, most unique and meaningful 'green' initiatives being used today in operating a facility? This event will be held at High Ridge Park in Stamford.
The June golf outing will take place on June 10th at the beautiful Woodbridge Country Club. Thanks to our golf sponsor, Culbertson Company of New York.
