Matthews Commercial brokers $1.28 million sale and leases 21,000 s/f

According to Gerry Matthews of Matthews Commercial Properties, 1838 New Britain Ave. has been sold to JHB Holdings LP of Radnor, Pa. The building consists of 40,680 s/f with three acres of land. The building was purchased from Stanley Realty Co., LLC for $1.28 million. Stanley Realty was represented by Paul Sciarra of William Raveis Real Estate. Matthews has also pre-leased 21,000 s/f of the facility to Image First Health Care Laundry Specialists. The company is a nationwide leader providing commercial laundry services and linen rental to the health care market with over 60 locations in the U.S. In another transaction, Ed Godin Jr., SIOR, a partner at Matthews Commercial Properties, represented the landlord in the leasing of a 16,000 s/f downtown office building located at 51 North Elm St. in Waterbury. The tenants are the Social Security Administration leasing 10,000 s/f and Community Health Center, Inc. occupying 6,000 s/f. The landlord is 51 North Elm LLC, a local investment group.
