McAllister joins Synergy Investments as associate director of leasing

According to Synergy Investments (Synergy), Aengus McAllister has joined their team as associate director of leasing. "We are pleased to welcome Aengus to our Firm as part of our plan for strategic growth," said Maura Moffatt, managing director of investments at Synergy. Prior to joining Synergy, McAllister worked on the acquisitions team at AEW Capital Management. While there, he assisted in the financial evaluation and negotiation of a wide range of core commercial real estate assets in the $15 million to $150 million range. During his time at the firm, he was involved in the underwriting and acquisition of over $200 million of commercial real estate assets throughout the New England region. Adding to his extensive background, he served as Director of Business Development at Vanguard Health Systems. In his new role, McAllister will work alongside James Grady, Senior Director of Leasing at Synergy, while he focuses on all asset and tenant functions relating to the firm's growing portfolio. Notably, McAllister will be responsible for solidifying Synergy's tenant base, coordinating lease transactions, and maintaining key broker relationships. "I am excited for the opportunity to join one of Boston's most innovative and well-respected real estate investment firms," said McAllister. "I was attracted to Synergy's talented leadership, deep market knowledge, and distinguished portfolio. I look forward to working alongside an industry leader like Jim Grady, maintaining Synergy's high level of tenant retention, and contributing my unique skill set to the firm." McAllister received his bachelor of science degree in Economics from Iona College and his master of business administration from Babson College. He is active in various charitable pursuits, including the American Ireland Fund and Self Help Africa, where he holds seats on each of the Young Leaders Boards. Additionally, he is an avid golfer having represented Ireland and Leinster from 1998 - 2006, as well as finishing fourth in the World Universities Golf Championship in Italy in 2006. Synergy Investments is a Boston-based real estate investment and development firm founded by David Greaney in 2003. Synergy is focused on the acquisition, repositioning and operation of commercial office buildings. The firm's specific capabilities include acquisition, debt placement, asset management, leasing, property management, permitting, and construction management. Its current portfolio encompasses over 3.5 million s/f across 30 properties in metropolitan Boston. The firm provides space to over 400 companies, and since 2004 has maintained average portfolio occupancy of greater than 95 percent. Synergy's reputation for active management and consistent execution contributed to its being named CBA Landlord of the Year.
