Meet IREM Member: David Rufo

CEO of RCM Services and Clifton Management Co. Rufo has over 25 years experience in the janitorial industry as well as real estate management and development. Rufo began in the industry in an entry-level position, performing general janitorial duties. At various firms, Rufo climbed through the ranks, overseeing janitorial and maintenance crews and was later responsible for general operations at a Boston based real estate company. Prior to forming RCM Services, Rufo was president and director of property management for Rufo Management. Previously, Rufo held sales coordinator and project manager positions for several development companies, overseeing sales and management of large condominium complexes. His duties included finance application, review and compilation and capital improvement coordination. Rufo began his career in the residential sales offices of Jim Kurker & Associates as salesperson and was quickly promoted to sales manager. Rufo was a member of the managers' committee for Community Associations Institute (CAI) and has been and industry partner of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for over 20 years. Rufo is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) candidate and a licensed Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson and Construction Supervisor. Rufo attended the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where he concentrated in Residential Real Estate Management and Development. Rufo Cleaning and Maintenance Company, Inc. (RCM Services) is a service organization specializing in janitorial maintenance and repair of condominiums, apartment buildings and commercial and medical office space. RCM's portfolio comprises over 60 condominium associations, 120 apartment buildings and over 450,000 s/f of commercial office space. Clifton Management Company, Inc. has a 210 apartment portfolio throughout Mass. and New Hampshire. Several properties maintained by Clifton Management Company, Inc. house low income individuals and non-profit housing program organizations.
