MorrisSwitzer celebrates topping out of 361,000 s/f project

Eastern Maine Medical Center's (EMMC) patient tower - Bangor, ME

The construction management joint venture between Maine-based Cianbro Corp. and Alabama-based Brasfield & Gorrie recently topped out the Eastern Maine Medical Center's (EMMC) new eight-story modernization project patient tower.
The modernization project consists of a new 361,000 s/f patient tower that will support a sterile processing department, main lobby, heart center, surgical suite, NICU, and three floors of private patient rooms.
The project was designed by MorrisSwitzer~Environments for Health and utilizes evidence-based design in its approach to patient-centered care. It is a Center for Health Design Pebble Project member. The project is sited to take advantage of the expansive views of the nearby river and is designed to accommodate future growth at EMMC.
Completion of Phase 1 of the project is scheduled for early 2016 with the full project completion scheduled for early 2017.
