Nahigian named 2015 Mass. Real Estate Educator of the Year by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors

Newton, MA Rob Nahigian, FRICS, SIOR, CRE, MCR of Auburndale Realty Co, was recently awarded by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors as the “2015 Massachusetts Real Estate Educator of the Year.” The professional awards recognition was made on Sunday night, September 27, at the Mass. Association of Realtors State Convention’s Professional Awards & Recognition Dinner with 220 people in attendance. The awards dinner and convention was held at the Double-Tree Hilton Hotel in Danvers, Mass. Annie Blatz, president-elect announced the recipient of the award from four state-wide finalists. She stated to the audience that the award to Nahigian was in recognition of his demonstrated commitment to promoting the professional growth of agents and brokers through course instruction, curriculum development, and contributions of academic and/or written work to industry publications.

Nahigian is a state-approved and certified continuing education instructor in Massachusetts and other states. He was appointed and serves on the Mass. Real Estate Licensing Commission’s Education Subcommittee. He writes, designs and teaches real estate courses and programs for state and local Realtor Associations and national real estate organizations. He has written dozens of state CE courses and serves on the faculty at Boston University, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, MAR and RealtorU as a Visiting Asst. Professor. He is also a national and international speaker on Logistics & Supply Chain, Commercial Lease Negotiations and Development Pro Forma.

The Educator of the Year Award is based on the nominee’s contributions to creating or enhancing education programs or courses offered to Realtors or licensees; educational seminars or designation classes at which the nominee served as an instructor or speaker; list of relevant industry-related articles, columns or books that the nominee has written; all related activities within the Realtors organization at the state or local levels which demonstrate the nominee’s dedication to educational pursuit and increasing real estate professionalism; and a demonstration of how the nominee has contributed on an on-going commitment to the role of real estate educator including achievements and designations. Peggy Duffy-Shea, MAR Manager of Education/Events works with the Awards Committee and congratulated Nahigian. It was the second time that he has received this award. He also received the 2011 Educator of the Year.
