The National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), in collaboration with Energy Star, honored several of its member companies for demonstrating superior and sustained energy use practices with Leader in the Light Awards presented during NAREIT Annual Convention.
"Our Leader in the Light award recognizes company-wide operations which generate substantially improved energy efficiency and expense management," said NAREIT executive vice president for finance and operations Sheldon Groner.
This year's award recipients are: Gold (tie): Simon Property Group and Legacy Hotels REIT; Silver: Parkway Props.; Bronze: The Macerich Co.; Honorable mention: AMB Property Corp., HCP, Inc., and ProLogis.
