Boston, MA A.W. Perry, a real estate investment and services firm with offices in Boston and Hingham, has appointed Tim Nguyen to chief financial officer and controller of the firm.

For nearly 140 years, A.W. Perry, Inc. has contributed to the fabric and economy of the city of Boston and the South Shore through its real estate holdings and community investments. Today, under the management of the fifth generation of the Perry family, A.W. Perry is known for premier properties such as 20 Winthrop Sq., The Berkeley at 420 Boylston St., and 40 Summer St. in Boston, as well as its South Shore Park campus in Hingham.

With over 15 years of experience, Nguyen is well positioned to lead the company’s financial efforts. He joined A.W. Perry in 2022 and brings his extensive knowledge of real estate accounting and finance. In his new role, Nguyen is responsible for all accounting & finance, risk management, payroll, and information technology (IT) functions of the company. Nguyen’s appointment follows Mark Flaherty’s recent transition from COO to president.

“Nguyen continues to demonstrate in depth knowledge of finance and accounting in all aspects of commercial real estate,” said Flaherty. “As the company grows its footprint, Nguyen will be key to ensuring the company is making the right decisions and planning for the future. We are lucky to have such a dedicated and qualified team member and look forward to Nguyen’s ongoing guidance in the company’s next chapter.”

Prior to A.W. Perry, Nguyen worked as a director of accounting for WinnDevelopment and controller for WinnResidential after starting his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their real estate assurance group.

Nguyen is a Certified Public Accountant currently licensed in MA and member of both the AICPA and MSCPA.

A.W. Perry’s services and portfolio spans regions and asset classes, including properties predominately on the South Shore and Metro Boston, and recently expanding their North Shore presence with the acquisition of an industrial facility in Lynn – now known as Lynnway Park.
