North Branch Construction of Concord has completed the construction of a new residence hall on the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) campus. This four-story building will serve as a co-ed dormitory with over 300 beds. It is located behind the Hampton and Windsor Dormitories at the end of East Side Dr. Students were given the opportunity to name the residence hall by voting on a list of ten New Hampshire-inspired names and the winner was Tuckerman Hall.
Design and construction of Tuckerman Hall was completed ahead of time, surpassing an aggressive schedule in order to be ready for students to move in for the August semester start. JSA, Inc. of Portsmouth provided architectural services for this project.
This is the second project North Branch has completed for SNHU. Last summer, they completed construction of the operations center, which serves as a central hub for the university's building and grounds department.
The operations center features office space and a warehouse that includes an equipment storage mezzanine with a 3,000 lb vertical lift. Construction also included a three-bay shed located behind the operations center that is used to house sand, salt, vehicles, and equipment.
