According to WinnCompanies, Elissa O'Brien has been named the new senior vice president of human resources and training for its national organization, headquartered in Faneuil Hall.
O'Brien brings 22 years of human resources experience to Winn. In her new role, O'Brien will be responsible for developing and executing a human resources strategy that will support the overall business plan and strategic direction of Winn.
Since joining Winn, O'Brien has worked to gain a broader understanding of the company's structure and environment in order to better engage employees at all levels. She will use this knowledge to build upon Winn's established foundation while identifying opportunities to address the company's human resource needs.
Prior to joining Winn, O'Brien most recently served as the director of corporate human resources services at Steward Health Care System.
, a fully integrated community care organization, where she was responsible for developing and executing a plan for managing talent acquisition and management, and on-boarding executives and hospitals to Steward Health Care System. Prior to that, she spent six years as the Senior Human Resource Executive for Wingate Healthcare, a healthcare organization providing skilled nursing, rehabilitation and assisted living with 4,000 employees based in Needham, Mass.

O'Brien received her bachelor's degree in Management of Human Resources from Salve Regina University, as well as her master's in Managerial Technology from Johnson and Wales University. She also holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources Management (SPHR) designation.

O'Brien lives in Providence, R.I. with her husband and two children. She is an avid runner and enjoys playing golf and traveling.
