Oster Dessel of Mott & Chace and Mayer of RPL sell 101 Prospect St. for $2.3 million

Providence, RI Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty brokered the sale of 101 Prospect St. for $2.3 million. The seller was represented by Allison Oster Dessel, sales associate of Mott & Chace. Rebecca Mayer of Residential Properties, Ltd. (RPL) represented the buyer.

The Henry A. Dike house, c. 1854, is a revival of the historic Italianate style. Featuring period architectural details, this home offers nine bedrooms and four and two half bathrooms. Located in the College Hill neighborhood of the East Side of the city, the double lot has a cultivated garden designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.

According to a 2003 Guide to Providence Architecture from The Providence Preservation Society, 101 Prospect St. “presents a highly animated surface, with elaborately detailed windows in a variety of configurations, shifting wall plans, and a large octagonal cupola on top.”

“The streets of College Hill are rich with architecture and history,” said Oster Dessel. “It has been an honor to represent a special home in this storied neighborhood.”

The sale of 101 Prospect St. is one of the highest single-family sales in the city this year, according to data available from Rhode Island Multiple Listing Service. Agents of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty have represented clients in two of the top four sales in the city year to date.
