Eastern Bank names Erica Papagno as manager of the Hyannis branch, which is expected to open later this summer.
Papagno joins Eastern Bank from Citizens Bank, where she held several key banking management positions on Cape Cod. Papagno, who brings 18 years of banking experience, was named a vice president and branch manager at Eastern Bank. Papagno will supervise a staff of about 12 employees, who specialize in a wide range of banking services for consumer, nonprofit and commercial customers.
Papagno earned a master's degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University and a bachelor's degree from the UMass. Amherst.
She is a past winner of the American Business Women's Association's "Women of the Year" award and a recipient of the Business Professional Women's "Young Careerist Award."
Papagno, who has deep roots in the Cape Cod community, is a member of the Women's Round Table and the Hyannis Chamber of Commerce. She has lived in Barnstable for 20 years.
Last month, Eastern Bank announced plans to open a Hyannis office, its seventh location on Cape Cod and second in Barnstable. It will offer personal and business banking, mortgage, investment and insurance services all under one roof.
Conveniently located at 375 Iyannough Road (Rte. 28) in Hyannis, the office is situated in the largest hub of business on Cape Cod. Hyannis, referred to as the "Capital of the Cape," is one of seven villages in Barnstable, the Cape's largest town with a population of more than 47,000.
The new location is Eastern Bank's 83rd branch. Eastern Bank's other Cape Cod locations are in Cotuit (Marston Mills), East Falmouth (Teaticket), Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich and South Yarmouth.
