Norton, MA Polar Design Build has been selected to construct a 112,500 s/f distribution center for Spears Manufacturing on a 13.8-acre parcel. 

The site-work for the distribution center commenced November 1,  2017 with tree and brush clearing. The construction of the building’s exterior will include insulated tilt-up concrete panels and conventional structural steel. The interior will boast 7-inch concrete floors and a 30-foot clear height. The warehouse will feature 9 overhead doors with future punch-outs, and one 14’ x 16’ drive-in overhead door with a ramp. It will also be equipped with a 60-foot wide concrete dolly pad. The distribution center will be 80% racked with narrow aisles and T-5 lighting. The firm will also install a ESFR sprinkler system with a diesel fire pump. The new distribution center will feature associated support offices with conference rooms and a break room as well as 10,000 s/f fenced-in outside storage area.  

Spears Manufacturing is a national distributor of plumbing products. The organization specializes in thermoplastic pipe fittings, industrial valves, and piping system components. It has offices and distribution centers located across the United States. The current project is a relocation of its Northeast operations. The new distribution center is located adjacent from the Norton Commerce Center off Exit 9 on Rte. 495 and near Rte. 24.
