Project of the Month: Bowdoin Construction Corp. completes interior renovations at corporate campus known as The Block

Canton, MA As part of an overall campus repositioning, Bowdoin Construction Corp. partnered closely with Elkus Manfredi Architects and property managers Newmark Knight Frank, as the construction manager on an interior renovation project on The Block, a corporate campus.

The recently completed work, which took place over five months, involved common area renovations and upgrades to the first and second level amenity spaces. A major element of the project consisted of the creation of The Hall on The Block, a new spacious dining area on the first level. The Hall on The Block offers artisanal cuisine in an urban-like setting, featuring polished concrete floors, blackened steel elements and reclaimed wood food stations with custom lighting. Tenants on The Block will enjoy multiple food choices, such as pizza from a custom pizza oven, and a variety of hard and soft seating options.

On the second level, an outdoor terrace and exterior curtain wall were modified, along with numerous lobby improvements. General finish upgrades included floors, walls, ceilings and lighting.

Originally serving as headquarters for Reebok, The Block, situated on a 42-acre site, includes a group of four multi-level buildings, two parking garages, The Chase House, multiple fields, meandering walking trails, and an indoor basketball court.

Founded in 1973, Bowdoin Construction is one of the New England region’s leading construction management firms. The Bowdoin team focuses on providing a creative and collaborative solutions-based approach to each client’s specific building needs. Bowdoin’s headquarters are in Needham Heights, Mass., with regional offices in Worcester, Mass. and E. Berlin, Conn.
