PowerOptions and Solect Energy Awarded Partnership of the Year

December 03, 2021 - Owners Developers & Managers

Boston, MA At the New England Clean Energy Council’s (NECEC) 13th Annual Green Tie Gala, Solect Energy and PowerOptions were awarded Partnership of the Year for helping nonprofits and public entities save money by powering their facilities with renewable energy.

“We are honored to be recognized by NECEC for a second year in a row, underscoring our shift to serving our members’ clean energy needs. Solect has been an invaluable partner in that shift in which together we have developed more than 100 projects saving nonprofits and public entities over $50 million,” said Heather Takle, CEO of PowerOptions. “Saving members on their energy costs is core to our mission - and thanks to Solect’s partnership, we have done that while helping them achieve their sustainability goals. Given that so many of our members are under-resourced and often serving disadvantaged communities, the partnership has been a real win on the road to energy justice.”

“Our program makes installing solar easy for local communities and opens up access to low-cost renewable energy across the state, including communities that may not be able to fund renewable energy upgrades otherwise.” said Ken Driscoll, CEO of Solect Energy.

“Our partnership extends to every city, town, state agency, school district, and institution we work with. We are working hard to provide access to low-cost, high-reward renewable energy with the best possible terms and conditions,” said Matt Shortsleeve, vice president of development with Solect Energy.

Each year the NECEC holds its Green Tie Gala to bring attention to the important work they do and honor others working in the clean energy space.

Other awards this year include “Startup Supporter of the Year” and “Emerging Company of the Year.”
