The women of IBEW Local 103 and NECA Greater Boston are leading the way to a more inclusive, equitable, and family-sustaining construction industry every day. We stand together to lift up all working people with fair wages, benefits, and business practices. This means making sure women have equal opportunities for success versus their male counterparts.
Together this month, IBEW Local 103 and NECA Greater Boston are excited to celebrate our 2nd Annual Women in Construction dinner, to reflect on the milestones we have achieved and the strides we continue to make each day. Women make up a growing percentage of the construction industry and are crucial to building a pipeline of highly-trained, hardworking construction professionals for the future. Our presence, our perspectives and our persistence in a male-dominated field have made our industry, and our communities at large, stronger as a result.
We own and operate businesses that build our region’s skyline, with the highest quality and the highest safety standards. We have fought for and won meaningful reform in the workplace, including extended maternity leave, clean break areas, and nursing stations for mothers on the job.
Finally, we are actively recruiting and welcoming young women to our organizations. We want women to know that there is a place for them in the union building trades. It’s a life-changing opportunity for them and for their families.
