Pro Con Inc holds ground breaking for Wiggins Airway expansion: $3 million design build project at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport

Pro Con Inc is the architect and construction manager for a new hangar at Wiggins Airway's General Aviation facility at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The $3 million design build expansion will provide a fourth hangar to the general aviation facility for aircraft storage. Pro Con Inc worked closely with the Wiggins personnel to ensure the hangar expansion would meet the owner's needs and perform functionally. The 23,240 s/f hangar will have the ability to accommodate various types of general aviation equipment and is designed to handle multiple aircraft. Metal clips and expansion joints will allow the buildings to be physically connected, while permitting the buildings to expand or contract up to two inches for thermal movement and enable the firewalls to be freestanding. An internal corridor allows Wiggins Airways' employees to pass from the hangars to the terminal building without having to go outdoors. The pre-engineered hangar will have exterior metal panels and a pitched metal roof. The Norco Stack hangar door system measures 28-feet high by 114-feet wide to accommodate a wide variety of aircraft. The floor of the hangar will be coated with a high gloss white, non-slip floor finish. Pro Con Inc began construction on the hangar expansion project in September 2013 and has scheduled a February 2014 completion date.
