Construction is progressing on the new 100-room, Residence Inn by Marriott hotel located at 670 Turner St. Pro Con Inc. is the architect and construction manager for the $7.8 million design build, which is being developed by Auburncourt, LLC. The 4-story, 75,256 s/f hotel reflects a new generation of Residence Inn by Marriott with exterior stone veneer, gable windows and cathedral ceilings in the Gatehouse and pool areas.   
"We are currently installing the sheet rock on all floors and will begin finishes by the end of the month," said the project superintendent for Pro Con Inc. "The pool has been installed and the mechanicals are underway throughout the hotel.  Our experienced team and excellent track record demonstrate Pro Con's ability to provide the highest level of client service and deliver quality projects on-time." Pro Con began the site work in 2008 and has scheduled a March 2009 completion date.
The hotel, which is located 6 miles from I-95 and diagonally across from the Auburn Mall, will offer studios, one and two bedroom suites with complete kitchens and separate sleeping and living room areas. The Gatehouse will feature a hearth room including a fireplace, breakfast buffet area, guest market, meeting room and study area. Plans call for a connected pool house with an indoor pool, spa, fitness room and guest laundry.
Residence Inn by Marriott is designed for the extended stay traveler with suites that are up to 50% larger than comparable hotel rooms, offering separate working, lounging, and sleeping areas.  Each suite also has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and coffee maker.  The hotel will also have an outdoor patio area with a gas fire pit, barbeque station and an athletic sports court.    
This is one of several projects Pro Con has recently designed and built including the new Renaissance Hotel at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Mass., a 97-key Residence Inn by Marriott in Middleton, R.I. and a 59-key Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Hooksett, NH.
