Premier Precision Group based in Minneapolis, Minn., which recently acquired RDS Machine Inc. and is planning to double the size of its operation over the next several years, held a groundbreaking in early November for its new machine shop according to the developer United Construction Corp.
United Const. was contracted to design-build the $3 million project and recently received local and state approvals to build a 36,000 s/f facility on Rte. 10. The deal took several months to pull together over the summer as Premier Precision Group decided on a build-to-suit lease option with United Const. versus ownership. Premiere Precision Group purchased a 1.95 acre lot for the new building which is adjacent to the existing RDS facility.
Tod Whipple, vice president of real estate at United Const. said the company did consider other sites outside the area but felt United Construction offered the most compelling industrial sites coupled with design-build services.
Whipple said the project is schedule for June completion.
