Regency Centers 103,483 s/f Shops at Saugus opens and signs new leases

According to Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers, its key anchor tenant at Shops at Saugus will open for business and several new leases have been signed at the community shopping center, 334 Broadway on Rte. 1.
On August 11th, an 11,000 s/f Trader Joe's grocery store opened with the company's traditional Hawaiian lei cutting at 8:45 a.m. and a store opening at 9 a.m.

Additionally, the center has signed several new leases including Lakeshore Learning, a 7,352 s/f chain store outlet with educational books and art supplies, plus toys and games for children ages one to twelve.

Also, Liberty Travel has signed a lease for a 1,210 s/f full-service domestic and international travel agency for personal and corporate travel and destination planning.

Regency closed on the shopping center site in September 2006 with joint venture partner Jay Donegan of J. Donegan Company of Lynnfield, Mass.

According to Andy Couch, Regency Centers vice president of investments, in addition to the new grocer and retail businesses, the 103,483 s/f shopping center will include PetSmart, La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery, Supercuts and locally-owned Border Café. Additional out parcel retailers include Starbucks and Qdoba Mexican Grill.

"We are very pleased to announce the opening of Trader Joe's in Saugus plus an outstanding mix of exceptional merchants. The shopping center is conveniently located 11 miles north of the city of Boston and will serve shoppers from the local and neighboring communities," said Couch.
